Desiring the Fear of The LordIts my first time completing minor prophets.. *phew* Other than enjoying the shorter books..(Heezzheez), my final lesson came from the last book of the bible, 'The book of Malachi'. It was written for the Israelites who has taken God's honor for granted. They have been doing religious stuff and their lifestyle has not really shown it. The Lord detested their "worship" and "offerings".
There are many things I learnt and really liked about Malachi...but I am only going zone in to the question the Lord posted for the people of Israel :
IF THEN I AM THE FATHER? WHERE IS MY HONOR? AND IF I AM THE MASTER, WHERE IS MY REVERENCE? (Malachi 1:6)
We can sing and act as if we really respect God or we really love God...but God is the Holy God and deserve all our honour and praise...
1) How many us really tithe regularly and faithfully with honour and thanksgiving?
2) How many give the best time of the day to spend time with the Lord?
3) How many us really fear the Lord and think about Him when we make every decision?
4) How many of us really think about the Lord when we burst out in anger or frustration to our family, love ones and friends?
5) How many of us really honor Him by honoring sabbath being found in church?
6) How many of us make the Lord our Lord of work, relationship and aspects of our life?
I truly repented for not honoring God for who He truly is. :( Thank God He is all-forgiving and loving..but we cannot take His grace and Love for granted because He is just and holy too.
I desire the fear of the Lord because I know with the fear of the Lord, i can do things right before His sight and that is the ONLY way.
"Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.."(proverbs 1) that is sooo true. Wisdom means to do things right actually...Its amazing how i understood and even desire the fear of the Lord.
"Dear Lord, forgive me for not honoring You for the way You are. Strengthen me and help me to live in Your ways. I pray for the fear of the Lord to come upon myself and Jon-dear so that we can live right before your eyes. "There is many plans in a man's heart but only the Lord's counsel will stand..(Proverbs)". Indeed, unite our hearts to fear Your Name so that whatever we do or whatever decision we make, we will fear Your Name first. Thank You, Lord."~In the Name of Christ Jesus, Amen
